The Coach

My name is Charly, I'm a PT based in Canberra, coaching out of Fitness First Deakin and Canberra City. I started personal training because I love helping people achieve and reach their fitness goals, and the confidence that comes with it. I love seeing people bloom out of their shell through fitness. Holding themselves more accountable, creating healthier lifestyles and healthier habits, it makes a world of difference for those who haven't entered it yet.

I've got such a passion around fitness. The gym has helped me through a lot, I've spent plenty of alone time in there, and there's more in the gym that correlates to real life than you realise. A lot of what you apply in the gym, you can apply to your life. So to me, the gym is so much more than just coming in and exercising. You're holding yourself accountable every day, holding yourself to a high standard, pushing yourself past your limits, figuring more and more out about yourself every day, and growing as a person, physically and mentally.

No. Programming is built around your starting point, whether that's your first time training or you've been at it for years.

Weekly plans are in-person, 1:1 sessions run in the gym. Online coaching gives you the same programming principles, but remotely, with check-ins and support instead of in-person sessions.

It's a quick chat about your goals, plus a 30-minute session in the gym so we can see where you're at. No cost, no obligation, just a chance to figure out if we're the right fit before you commit to anything.

7 Years In The Industry

I started coaching seven years ago, and the biggest lesson hasn't changed since day one: consistency beats intensity, every time. The perfect program that someone follows for two weeks loses to the average program someone actually sticks with for two years. That's the whole game.

The second thing I learned the hard way: generic plans don't work for real people. Everyone's dealing with something, a bad shoulder, a demanding job, three hours of sleep last night. Programming that ignores that isn't programming, it's a guess.

And the third: coaching is about the person more than the program. Understanding what actually motivates someone, communicating in a way that lands, and adjusting when life gets in the way matters as much as any exercise selection ever will.

Human Engine is built on those three lessons. Whatever you're working with, the program adapts to you, not the other way around.
