The Coach
My name is Charly, I'm a PT based in Canberra, coaching out of Fitness First Deakin and Canberra City. I started personal training because I love helping people achieve and reach their fitness goals, and the confidence that comes with it. I love seeing people bloom out of their shell through fitness. Holding themselves more accountable, creating healthier lifestyles and healthier habits, it makes a world of difference for those who haven't entered it yet.
I've got such a passion around fitness. The gym has helped me through a lot, I've spent plenty of alone time in there, and there's more in the gym that correlates to real life than you realise. A lot of what you apply in the gym, you can apply to your life. So to me, the gym is so much more than just coming in and exercising. You're holding yourself accountable every day, holding yourself to a high standard, pushing yourself past your limits, figuring more and more out about yourself every day, and growing as a person, physically and mentally.

No. Programming is built around your starting point, whether that's your first time training or you've been at it for years.
Weekly plans are in-person, 1:1 sessions run in the gym. Online coaching gives you the same programming principles, but remotely, with check-ins and support instead of in-person sessions.

7 Years In The Industry
I started coaching seven years ago, and the biggest lesson hasn't changed since day one: consistency beats intensity, every time. The perfect program that someone follows for two weeks loses to the average program someone actually sticks with for two years. That's the whole game.
The second thing I learned the hard way: generic plans don't work for real people. Everyone's dealing with something, a bad shoulder, a demanding job, three hours of sleep last night. Programming that ignores that isn't programming, it's a guess.
And the third: coaching is about the person more than the program. Understanding what actually motivates someone, communicating in a way that lands, and adjusting when life gets in the way matters as much as any exercise selection ever will.
Human Engine is built on those three lessons. Whatever you're working with, the program adapts to you, not the other way around.

What we collect
When you fill out a form on this site — the contact form, a booking request, the client intake form, or an online coaching enquiry — we collect what you enter directly: things like your name, email, phone number, and for the client intake form, information about your goals, injury history, training history, and lifestyle.
We don't use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or advertising pixels on this site at this time.
How we use it
Information submitted through our forms is used solely to respond to your enquiry, schedule sessions, and build training programs tailored to you. We don't sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Where it's processed
Form submissions on this site are processed through Formspree, a third-party form-handling service, which forwards submissions to our email inbox. Formspree's own privacy policy governs how they handle data in transit — see formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy for details.
How long we keep it
We retain submitted information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide coaching services or respond to your enquiry, and delete it on request.
Your rights

Who we are

You don't need a Fitness First membership
Human Engine clients do not need their own Fitness First membership to train with Human Engine PT at Fitness First. Your sessions with us cover your access for those sessions. Simple as that.
Weekly 1:1 plans (Basic Engine, Standard Engine, Advanced Engine, Engine Detailing)
Plans are billed weekly at the listed rate. Engine Detailing is priced on application. Your weekly session times are locked in once agreed, so your coach can plan around them.
Cancelling a session: we need at least 24 hours notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, or missed, are forfeited. No refunds and no make-ups on late cancellations, unless a genuine emergency occurs, talk to your coach. Coaching runs on accountability, and that session time was held for you.
Pausing your plan: you can pause with at least one week's written notice, for as long as you need. When you're ready, you come back and pick up where you left off.
Ending your plan: two weeks written notice stops your weekly billing. No lock-in contracts.
Engine Starter Pack ($120, first two sessions)
Available once per person, for new clients only. Both sessions must be used within 14 days of purchase. Not combinable with other discounts or the referral package.
Specialised Programming add-on (+$10/week)
Available on Standard Engine and above, for ongoing PT clients only. Added or removed with one week's notice.
Hybrid Engine group sessions and class packs
Drop-in $30. 5-Class Pack $135. 10-Class Pack $250. Sessions run Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at Fitness First Deakin.
Class packs expire 3 months from the date of purchase. Packs can be shared with friends, and every class used off a shared pack is tracked against that pack, however it's split.
Bookings: right now, just turn up. As sessions grow we'll move to bookings so we know numbers, and we'll let you know when that starts.
Pack discount on weekly plans
While you have classes remaining on an active pack, $15/week (5-pack) or $20/week (10-pack) comes off any weekly 1:1 plan. One active pack discount per person, and one benefit at a time: the pack discount doesn't stack with other offers. The discount ends when the pack's classes run out or the pack expires.
Referral package (Advanced Engine)
Advanced Engine clients can refer family and friends. Each referred person receives a $300-value intro package: an Initial Engine Block consult plus two 30-minute 1:1 sessions, run individually across the week.
The package belongs to the referred person, not the referrer, and is one per person. First-timers only: it's for people new to Human Engine, not returning past clients. Not combinable with the Engine Starter Pack or other offers.
Payments
Payment is by direct debit through Square, Square Pay, or Apple Pay, drawn every Thursday. Cash is accepted in limited circumstances, arranged directly with your coach.
If a session is cancelled by us, it's rescheduled or refunded, your choice. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Health and safety
Complete the client intake honestly, including injuries and medical conditions, and tell your coach when things change. We may ask you to get medical clearance before training. Pre-exercise screening is part of starting.
Training carries inherent risk. We coach to minimise it; you agree to follow coaching instructions and work within your program.
The boring but necessary
Prices can change with four weeks notice. Changes never apply to sessions already paid for. We can update these terms; the current version lives on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory.
Hybrid Engine Group Sessions
Never done one before? Please come, you are more than welcome. This is for all fitness abilities. Whether you're aiming for a faster time or it's your first time, come along and have some fun. Run locally in Canberra at Fitness First Deakin.
